What we keep, and what we never ask for

Suite Odds collects what people bid in cruise upgrade auctions and what happened, so that everyone can see what it takes to win. It is an independent project, not affiliated with any cruise line. This page says exactly what we keep.

What you tell us in a report

• The cruise line, the ship, the month you sail (never the date) and the number of nights.
• The cabin you booked and the cabin you bid for.
• Your bid and its currency, and if you give them, the minimum the portal showed and what its strength meter said.
• How many days before sailing you bid, what happened, and how many days before sailing they told you.
• If you give them: the fare you paid and what the cabin you bid on was selling for. These are never shown one by one; they only ever feed figures made from many reports.
• If you give it: your email address.

What we never ask for

No names, no booking or reservation numbers, no cabin numbers, no payment details and no exact dates. The form has no place for them, and our server drops anything sent that the form does not ask for. Nothing we keep can be traced back to your booking.

What we publish

Reports appear on the site without your email and without the fares you paid: for example “Icon of the Seas · Balcony → Junior Suite · $310 pp · 12 days out · won”. Bids in other currencies are shown in US dollars, converted with the European Central Bank’s reference rate for the day of the report. Figures such as medians are built from many reports and always show how many.

Your email

It is optional, and we use it for two things only.

• If your report was still waiting for an answer, we send one email after your sail month with a link to record what happened. That link works once and opens only that report. There is no second reminder.
• The Upgrade Market Report: one email a month, starting January 2027, if you signed up for it, or the first issue if you left your email on a report. Every issue will let you stop them.

We never sell your email or share it with anyone for their own use. Emails are sent through Resend, which delivers them for us.

Keeping out spam

When you send a report or sign up, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is sending it, not a script. It does this from signals in your browser, under Cloudflare’s own privacy policy. We pass it your IP address for that check, and keep a count of recent sends from each network in memory only, to slow down floods. We do not store your IP address. The companies that host the site see it as part of delivering any web page.

Counting visits

We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and keeps nothing that identifies you: the page, the site that sent you, your country and the kind of device, and a count of reports filed, sign-ups and reports closed out, by cruise line. Plausible does not store your IP address. The key in a reminder link is removed before anything is sent, so Plausible never sees it.

Cookies

Suite Odds sets no cookies.

Where it is kept

Reports and emails are kept in a database run by Supabase in the United States. The site runs on Railway. Email is sent through Resend.

How long

• Reports stay for as long as Suite Odds runs: they are the data.
• The email on a report stays so we can credit your report later, until you ask us to delete it.
• A Market Report sign-up stays until you stop the emails or ask us to delete it.
• A reminder link stops working the moment it is used.

Your choices

Write to [email protected] and we will delete your email, or a report you sent, or tell you what we hold for an email address. Say which report or which address; we will not ask for anything else.

Suite Odds is not meant for anyone under 18. If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that uses your email differently will be said here first.
